Friday and this weekend there is a lot happening in the sky regarding astrology! Mars, the planet of action, drive, ambition, sex drive, and aggression, went Retrograde Friday. This means until February 23, 2025, the planet Mars, ruled by Ares, the God of War, and also the ruler of the sign Aries, will appear to move backwards in the sky and it will start in the sign of Leo and will move back into the sign of Cancer. Leo rules creativity, children, passion, and the arts, while Cancer rules the home, family, emotions, ancestors, and real estate. It indicates a decrease in our essential energy, a disturbance in how we pursue our desires, and leads to frustration in reaching our objectives. It marks a turning point in conflicts, encouraging reconciliation, resolution, or a reassessment of previous actions. This may bring up past wounds and issues of anger. DO NOT INSTIGATE FIGHTS!
Venus has also moved into Aquarius until January 2nd, 2025. This brings more of a cool, detached, and logical nature to love and relationships. Love isn’t something that is supposed to be logical, so it can be kind of a struggle in this sign. It has a tendency to intellectualize love and feelings instead of actually FEELING them and emoting. It can be a great time for scientific pursuits, technological advancements, and humanitarian viewpoints, because while it can have a hard time with one on one relationships, Aquarius energy is great with seeing the collective as a whole and helping in that regard.
With Venus in Aquarius conjunct Pluto in Aquarius, those who are avoidant or emotionally manipulative will be revealed. It will be heading into an opposition with Mars Retrograde in Leo which can cause some serious issues revolving around aggression, anger, and possibly violence related to obsessive love, extreme issues of control and power surrounding love, the arts, values, sex, ambition, and money. Watch yourself in dangerous situations for the next week or so, especially around December 12th and 13th and a little while after that. Venus in Aquarius, which also relates to the collective and humanity as a whole connected to Pluto the planet of power, control, transformation, death, and rebirth which means the collective is FINALLY waking up and it will not be contained! With it opposing Mars, this could bring more violence from the collective and the people. Venus in Aquarius is an air sign so this could bring a transformation of values and beliefs within the collective opposing Mars in Leo where Leo rules the ego.
Mars Retrograde could also cause your inner strength, will, drive, ambition, and sex drive to go underground for the next few months making it more of an internal struggle. Mars Retrograde cycles can cause you to reflect on these things internally rather than externally as you normally would, so be on the lookout for that in your own life.
The Sun in Sagittarius is also opposite Jupiter in Gemini today which causes expansiveness in attitudes, exaggeration, optimism, generosity, and enthusiasm. It’s a great time for higher learning, setting ambitious goals, expanding your horizons, and going out of your comfort zone as far as your aspirations are concerned. It could cause you to put all your eggs in one basket though, so be careful and hedge your bets.
Last, but definitely not least, Neptune in Pisces went Direct today! FINALLY! This means that the planet of dreams, imagination, illusions, deceptions, fog, and escapism is heading in the right direction again! So, if you suddenly get a burst of truth headed your direction, this should not come as a surprise to you, especially with Mercury (the planet of information and communication) having just been Cazimi in Sagittarius, the sign of the truth-teller, blunt honesty, beliefs, higher learning, politics, and religion. Neptune also rules addiction, so anyone who is struggling may find it a little easier now that Neptune is no longer Retrograde. Keep fighting the good fight! With Neptune Direct in Pisces expect the creatives of the world to rejoice! Imaginations will soar, the arts will be flowing, and dreams might also be more vivid.
